From the report generator to a question
In most companies a new Priority report goes like this. A manager asks for something. The one person who knows the report generator builds it, exports it to Excel, cleans it up and sends it. A week later the manager asks for the same report "but by agent", and the cycle starts again.
WizBI cuts that to one step: the question is the report. You write what you want to see, WizBI reads Priority, and the answer comes back in the chat. Want it by agent? Write "and by agent". Want last year next to it? Write that too.
No report definition to build in Priority, and nobody has to wait for the person who knows the report generator.
A catalogue of Priority reports you can simply ask for
These are typical requests, phrased the way people actually type them. Each one works as a one-off question or as a fixed report.
Management
- "Sales this month against target and against the same month last year."
- "Gross margin by product family this quarter."
- "The 10 largest open customer orders, and how long each has been open."
- "Which customers bought less this quarter than in the same quarter last year?"
Finance
- "Open customer debt by age: up to 30, 60, 90 and over 90 days."
- "What is due to suppliers this week and next week?"
- "Invoices issued last month that are still unpaid."
Sales — the Priority sales report
- "Sales by agent this month, with the change from last month."
- "Customer A's purchases over the last 12 months, by item."
- "Customers who bought every month and have not ordered in 60 days."
- "The price each customer paid for item X in the last six months."
Inventory and purchasing — including the Priority stock value report
- "Items below minimum stock, with the open purchase orders for each."
- "Stock value by warehouse at the end of last month."
- "Items with no movement in the last six months, and what they are worth."
- "Open purchase orders by supplier where the due date has passed."
Automatic Priority reports: turn any answer into a fixed report
When a report proves useful, ask for it on a schedule: "send me this every Sunday at 08:00". It arrives in the same chat, as a message or as an Excel or PDF file. No report definition to maintain, no export to run.
- Yesterday's sales, every morning, to the sales manager.
- Customer debt aging, every Sunday, to the CFO.
- Stock value by warehouse, on the first of every month, to management.
- An alert when an item drops below a stock level you set.
Threshold alerts work the same way: tell WizBI where the line is, and it writes to you when a figure crosses it.
Priority BI reports that also use your other data
Some reports need more than Priority. Sales targets often live in a spreadsheet; project status lives in monday.com. WizBI can draw on several connected sources in one answer, so "sales against target by agent" works even when the targets are in Excel.
When the Priority report generator is still the right tool
WizBI does not replace everything Priority does with reports. Keep these in Priority:
- Printed documents and their forms — invoices, delivery notes, quotes, purchase orders. They are part of the transaction and belong where the transaction lives.
- Reports that are part of work inside Priority — lists people open on screen and act on, document by document.
- Fixed-format reports your accountant or auditor relies on, defined and checked once, the same every time.
WizBI reads the same data and answers the questions those reports were never built for — the ad-hoc ones, the ones that change every week, and the ones asked by people who never open Priority.
A simple rule: if the report is a document, build it in Priority. If it is a question, ask it.
Beyond reports: your permissions, and automation on request
Each person sees only what their permissions allow, on every channel, and every question is logged and can be reviewed. Beyond answers, reports and alerts, we build automations around your processes in Priority on request — each one defined with you, running under the permissions you set, every action logged.
